ASP High Security Hinged Handcuffs
The ASP Ultra Plus Cuffs represent the next evolution in professional restraint systems. Recognised as a National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) “Member Tested and Recommended” Gold Award Winner, these cuffs are trusted by law enforcement professionals worldwide.
Building on the proven ASP Ultra Cuff platform, the Ultra Plus introduces a critical advancement in officer and subject safety: keyless double locking. This innovation streamlines the restraint process, reduces risk, and improves consistency during high-stress arrests.
Keyless Double Lock – Faster, Safer, More Reliable
Double locking is a vital step in safe handcuffing. With ASP Ultra Plus Cuffs, double locking is engaged instantly and intuitively by pressing the integrated double-lock bar with a fingertip—no key required.
A colour-indicated status bar provides immediate visual confirmation that the cuffs are double-locked. Once applied, if the indicator is visible, the officer simply presses the bar. This reduces the likelihood of missed double-locking and eliminates the need to access a key during the arrest phase, increasing safety for all involved.
Professional-Grade Construction & Design
The forged aluminum frame is manufactured from 7075-T6 ordnance-grade aluminum, delivering exceptional strength at a reduced weight. Forging—rather than stamping—eliminates sharp edges and produces a smooth, rounded profile that improves ergonomics and reduces injury risk.
The conical, flat contact bow geometry allows faster, more accurate application across a wider range of wrist sizes while maintaining detainee comfort and safety. Highly radiused bow edges further reduce the risk of injury during application and transport.
Operational Advantages
Ultra Plus Cuffs feature dual-sided, single-turn keyways on each frame. Both the primary lock and double lock are released by turning the key in a single direction, simplifying training and reducing application time.
The replaceable lock set system allows field servicing when required and provides agencies the option to configure lock sets to suit operational preferences or higher security requirements. Lock placement within the forged frame also offers strong resistance to shimming.
The hinge model uses a stainless steel, four-point rotation hinge, providing increased control and reduced subject mobility compared to chain restraints.
